Twas the day before Christmas,
And all through the land,
There were many good people,
In need of a hand.

The times, they were tough,
The economy was tight,
The jobs were too few,
Unemployment out of sight!

Children were writing,
To the Big Man their notes,
Not asking for toys,
But for food and new coats!

Moms and Dads were so sad,
They were stuck in a hole,
Buy gifts or pay rent?
It cut to right their soul!

We sure need to help,
Our fellow man out.
Just give them a hand,
Not just a handout!

Just a coin in a bucket,
A toy for donation,
Your time to a program,
That's just the foundation!

If we all could just give,
A tiny bit of ourselves,
The world would be better,
We wouldn't need elves.

The moral of this,
I guess is just hope,
We need it so much,
To keep us afloat!

Merry Christmas Eve everyone.

UPDATE!! PS- And by lend a hand, I mean this! So proud of my community.

Merry Christmas to you and yours. I am working Christmas eve and a few hours Christmas day as well as new years eve and new years day. At least the overtime will come in handy.
