Just A Few Things....

I hate it when I sit down at my lap top to write out what I thought was going to be a funny and insightful piece, then poof! It's gone. God I must be getting old.

Had to go buy a new printer today. Seems Rebecca has had a project at school that is due tomorrow, yet didn't start it till Sunday . Yep. My gifted honor student procrastinated herself till the night before the due date. So when she went to go print her crap out.....pfft! The printer was shot. Great. So HHH and I had to haul ass up to Wall to Wall Mart and get another on. It was time anyway since we were having trouble getting the ink for our old one. Last time I was in Best Buy looking for it, the guy said the printer companies phase out the inks and printers in only a year after they are first introduced to the market so as to keep us all buying new printers and such. Assholes.

I really wish Florida would go back to being Florida. This cold snap business is getting old. I love Florida for the warm weather. Even in the height of summer when it hits triple digits, it is frickin awesome! Just go to the pool or the beach and relax. This bundle up, shivering, low 40's shit sucks hard. Even the tourists who came down here are bitching. Yes I know it beats blizzards and foot after foot of snow, but damn it! I wanna wear my strappy sandals!

SRG has bouts coming up people! I'm not skating in the March 13th one, but I am shooting for the April 3rd one. Either or, I am calling on any and all bloggers to...

I'm not asking for a lot, just a little support. I mean, what could be more fun than watching grown women dressed in scanty costumes getting sweaty and knocking each other around?!? Plus at the March 13th bout we will be having Haitz play a special concert, PLUS there is beer and wine sales for those who have proper ID. Come on................ PLEASE!

Ok, that's all for now. I gotta teach two Checz's(sp) how to clean green tomorrow. Yep, I am tired of getting screwed over at work so we hired two people and now if someone tries to call in on me.... Boo-ya! You're replaced!

Let's Party!

Today HHH and I went and put down the deposit for Mo and Jr's birthday party. As requested, we went to Stardust Skate and Event Center. After looking over the options, we settled on a Sunday afternoon skating party. After booking the party and getting the invitations, we headed home. I checked Facebook while HHH, (who has the best handwriting), wrote out the name and RSVP's. I went over to the Stardust page and wrote to Ronni that we had booked our party. A few hours later I checked Facebook again and lo and behold here's what I see.....

Hi Nicole,
Thanks so much for booking your party reservation. I put on your reservation to give you $15 off for being an SRQ Roller Girl. We will be sure to make your party ..... A BLAST!
Best regards,

Ronni owns the skating center we do our Derby at. She totally ROCKS!!! Now all I have to do is procure a Mario Kart game for Junior and a pair for shiny new roller skates for Mo. Yes, she wants a pair of regular roller skates. I warned her, that's how roller girls start...... a pair of skates and no fear of falling!

UPDATE: Had to move the party to Saturday afternoon because the Orioles have a spring training game on Sunday and parking would be a horror for the party guests! Ronni made sure to get me a message right away. She is just the best! I highly recommend Stardust for all your party needs..... and especially choose Stardust on March 13th for our opening Roller Derby bout!!! Whoo hoo!!

Bad Day.

It was bad.
Really bad.
The kind of suck ass day where you just want it to either end or for the world to explode.
I let down my kids today. It was my work's fault, but I made a promise that I wasn't able to keep and I am pissed off as all get out. Add to that HHH's day off was fucked up because of him having to do kid duty, and my Friday was just fucked all around.

Here's hoping Saturday is better.

1. People who drive like fucking morons need to be pecked to death by a flock of ducks! I had one toothless, redneck asshole actually slow to 25mph on Tamiami Trail, then take up half of my lane and half of the turn lane all to be a fucker and make me have to almost stop so I could possibly get rear ended. Jerk fucking dickwad then laughed about it as he completed his turn into the bowling alley. If I hadn't had to be back at work right away I might have stopped to kick his ass. I was just that pissed off and frustrated!!
2. Dumbass tourists who have no idea where they are going and can't listen to their GPS's need to stay the fuck in the hotel. I was cut off 7 times today by idiots with out of state tags who suddenly HAD to be in my lane because the (restaurant, store, mall, etc...) was on the other side of the street. Sure Fuckey McFuckerson, come on over and oh by the way almost take off my front bumper while you do it too! I don't mind in the least. Oh, what's that you say? Oh that's just my one finger wave. I wanted you to know how much I appreciate your courtesy of not using your turn signals also. Ass.
3. Idiot fuckers who can't be bothered to do the job they've been hired to do can kiss my ass when expecting me to bend over backwards for their special needs. I basically work 2 jobs for one salary and if you can't be bothered to actually do the ONE job you were hired for then fuck you and your requests. I'm not gonna hurry up to oblige you.

I guess you can tell, I'm a little cranky. Time for some Gobo kisses. That will make it all better.

  • I love Derby! I really do. I may bitch and moan about how I'm tired and worked all day, but come 8:45pm I am out there with the other women. I may not be fast, I may not be zippy, but damn it, I can get in the way, and that's all you need for being a blocker. Lately I have been trying to get out of my comfort zone and doing a bit of pivoting. I'm getting better at it because being pivot means you have to control what your team is doing. You have to call out signals, you have to have your head on a permanent swivel.... you get the point. I'm going out of my comfort zone to try and learn this. Go me!
  • I love Gobo. He is just the best second dog ever. Nobody will ever replace Toby, but Gobo is running a close second! I get up in the morning and he's all perky and ready to cuddle. Then I come home during the day and he launches his tiny body into my arms, all fuzzy wiggles and sloppy kisses. He has helped heal my heart, and the hearts of Morgan and Fluffy. Fluffy has opened up to Gobo as well. Tonight Fluffy and Gobo played together for about half an hour and it was so heart warming to watch.
  • Work has been running ok for now. I guess I am just really excited about psycho bitch possibly selling out and moving. I got two more clients so far this week and hopefully I'll get another on Thursday.
  • I'm tired now.
  • Good night.

Today was a Monday. Just isn't a better way to put it. I had to go to the dreaded crazy woman's house. You know, the one that thought it was OK to snatch me around like a child? Yeah her. I kept out of arm's reach so I could stay out of jail. I had already decided that if she touched me again, I was going to pack up my shit and my girls and leave right then and there. Luckily it didn't come to that. Instead, I found out that they are showing the condo to sell it! Oh! Em! Gee! I will hopefully not EVER have to see that psycho bitch ever again!!!! I can dream.

After that, I went back to the office. I had to get the paper work done for the next day, set up some appointments for cleaning, wash the laundry for the day, oh and try to update our Quickbooks version and transfer our Merchant Services account to the newer version so we could take credit cards.

At first glance, it seemed like there was a bug in the transfer. I followed the blinking screen to a phone number. I call the phone number and after plinking in several numbered phone options, I reach Rajneesh on the other end, only Rajneesh says his name is Steve and he'd really like to help me.

ME: "OK Rajneesh, I need to switch my info from one version to another. How do I do this?"
RAJNEESH: "I will be happy to help you. First let me tell you about the wonderful 2010 edition you need to switch to so you will be able to do this."
ME: "But I don't want to switch to the 2010 version. The 2007 version works just fine for us, but we need to process our credit card customers, so just help me switch the merchant info over and activate it there please."
RAJNEESH: "Certainly ma'am. But let me first explain the wonderful discounts and amazing tech support you can get with the 2010 version of our product..."
ME: "No thank you. All I want is to move my merchant account to this 2007 version so I can take credit cards. THAT"S ALL."
RAJNEESH: "I would be happy to do this for you, but let me first tell you....."

And this went on and on and on. No matter how many times I said "no" this guy would not take no for an answer. I finally had to hand the phone over to Boss Lady and she went all Assertive Control Freak on the guy. In the end, we got our stuff changed over. I'm waiting for the next credit card customer to try it out.

What is it with these people? They make you have to call them so you can get support, then harangue you to within an inch of your life to buy this that and the other! Give it a break already! If I had wanted to buy your other crap, I wouldn't have bought the crap I already have! Is it a selling thing? Do they put these bugs in the system so you have to call them for help then they pounce on you?? What ever the hell it is, I can do without it.

As it is, we are updated, and ready to go.
Now, can I get an update on my rack? The 1972 model is sagging a little!!

We all have them. Our families. The people we didn't get to choose, but were born with. Our family is what defines us as children. "Oh that's Bob and Maggie's kid." or "Aren't you from the Backwater line of Passingtons?" You know the drill. It is especially prevalent in the south.Your family is what defines you as a person.

Two plus years ago, mine wrote me off, along with my kids and husband. HHH had just lost his job in Stuart because a woman who was mad he turned her in for having an illegal pet made accusations of sexual harassment against him. Instead of standing up for their employee, the company made a bogus write up for him and fired him on the spot. We were going to be homeless. (the first time around.) HHH wanted to stop by my hometown on the way so I could try to rekindle a relationship with my Mom and Dad because 6 months earlier they basically turn their back on us once already. We stopped in and I proceeded to have to listen to my mother attack my husband, my life, and everything else under the sun. I was told I needed to leave my husband, get my own place, but don't ask for any help from them because she was basically done with me AND my family. Don't ask for anything, don't call, just get the hell out and quit bothering them. She said she has my older sister, (who incidentally is a drug addict, prostitute, and married a Taliban to give him citizenship for $30,000.), to help take care of them,so leave and don't come back. Period. The end.

I haven't had contact since. Well, I did call their house after Faye came through the state and the weather channel said my home town was flooded really good. After making sure they were OK and having to listen to 15 minutes of my mom asking why I don't call, I hung up and that has been that. I can't handle being raised with the notion that family is one of the most important things in this world, then being told I'm worthless and written off. I have raised my kids to understand family above all else. I have lived my life for my (immediate)family.

Enter today. Today a friend from high school wrote me on facebook saying I really needed to call her. I just wrote back that if it concerned my parents, I wasn't interested. She wrote back that she was disappointed I was holding on to this hurt, oh and my sister has colon cancer. I guess her hard life caught up to her. In her words...
"It's better to take the first step than live in bitterness."
But I'm not really that bitter. I'm actually OK with not having spoken to them in so long. I understood the reasons behind it. Yes they're old and need to look out for themselves, I got that right away, but please don't act like you care when the chips are down. Don't say you wish you could see your grandchildren more often when two years ago they weren't even good enough to sleep on your couch! I refuse to be manipulated like that.

So now I sit here, cooking dinner, watching TV, and mulling over this new knowledge about my family. It's quite obvious that my Mother has only told a glossed over version of this to my HSBF, so she has kind of sided with them, but I don't blame her. When you only hear the good and not the bad, you tend to not understand. Maybe someday I can get past all this, but I like to think I am just following my Mother's instructions the very last time I saw her.....

"Don't bother to call or come see us again."

Yes Mother.

Sleeping in for 2 extra hours.
Eating stuff you know you shouldn't.
Going for a Motorcycle ride because it's finally nice outside.
Catching up on laundry, housework, etc...
Putting up a new pot rack.
Being lazy as I wanna be.
Spending time with my family.
Spending time with Gobo.
Eating a steak dinner.
Laying on the couch watching DVR.
Cuddling my kitteh.

Doing what I want.

In honour of my eldest daughter's first time at the "Dragonfly Cafe'" (Which is the creative writing outlet for the kids) I told Rebecca I would write a poem. She did want me to get up in front of the crowd and recite something off the top of my head, but Junior and Morgan wouldn't sit still. So.... for Rebecca, here is my poem.

Green, Black, Yellow, Brown, Pink,
These are the colors I must scour,
from the Earth and
From your porcelain throne.

Dust motes, like ancient columns,
stand crumbling before me.
Lattice like scum envelopes,
the smooth tile till my
citrus rain devourers it.

So there you have it. My attempt at poetry. Pretty cool if you ask me.

This week has been sucking ass. I have a girl who was out on Monday, came back on Tuesday, then was out for the whole rest of this week. I have had to clean 4 out of 5 days and when that happens, the office side of my job suffers. I can't even get back to the office to do interviews with potential candidates for our 8th position! Suck ass much?!?

Thursday night was another derby practice. We did some strategy and drills, and then we mixed it up and started hitting. HARD! God that is so freakin' awesome! We have some totally wicked skaters on our team too! I am so glad I am finally healthy and un-poor so I can get back in the swing of things again. I did, however, find out that I am not skating in the bout on the 13th of next month. I did lose some stamina in the two months I was out, so there was no way I'd be in total shape for that. It's cool. Now I have my goal as being in shape and ready for the April 3rd bout. You can bet I'll be ready for that one!

OK, I'm making this a short one. I'm tired from cleaning three houses, going to derby, and having to clean 3 more today!

Today was a day full of extremes. I either had really good stuff happening, or really bad stuff happening. Take this morning... Really Bad- Employee calling in because of illness. Really Good- Had a replacement who came in earlier to help out. See..... from bad to good in 15 minutes flat. Unfortunately, the rest of the day was going to follow suit.

The worst of it was....

I was on the phone with one of my team leaders in the early afternoon. I was trying to ascertain whether there was time for another job to be added to her day. As we were discussing this possibility, I hear a male voice in the background..."What are you doing on the fucking phone?!?" I was taken aback. I asked quietly, "Is that the client?" My team leader says yes and then urgently tells me she is going to pack up and leave with her team mate because the man is getting weird. He suddenly was being hateful and rude. I tell her to get out of there and go to the next house. Then the office phone starts ringing. It was said client. He is having a collective cow that the girls are packing up and leaving, and I tell him my people will not tolerate being verbally abused and he tries to lie and say he wasn't cursing at them. I call bullshit and tell him it was ME she was on the phone with so I had HEARD him say these things to her. Then the dumbass started back peddling. He spouts off with,"Well if your people are too frail to hear the F word the too bad." Um... excuse me? You don't act like an asshole to my people! We may be a maid service, but we aren't animals. Then the idiot started threatening to go on every list that advertises Service oriented businesses and bad mouthing us. Really dude? You're gonna stoop to acting like a 7 year old in grade school?? What a lint licker. I told him I would refer his "problem" to my Boss and she'd call him back, then I hung up on him. What a tool.

Then the really good that happened was I went to an estimate today that was A. In my apartment complex, B. Right around the time I was going to be there anyway because I was taking the kids home and C. The guy used one of the coupons I have been leaving in the office! Yay go me! Then to top it off, I got the job and then the guy gives me a 27 inch flat screen TV! No lie! I'm watching it right now as we type. You just can't beat that with a stick!

So, as I sit here in my comfy bed, watching my new TV, I wonder what is going to come of tomorrow. Hopefully I am done with the bad for the rest of this week. I'd like a little more good now please!

And did I mention I was almoste pinged by a golf ball while in the company car? No??

It was just one of those days I guess.

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

I spent hours upon hours in traffic today. Trying to get to jobs, trying to get back from jobs, trying to get to the bank, trying to get to the office, trying to GET ANYWHERE!!! HHH was late getting the kids and I had to swing by and get them because of being stuck an hour and a half in traffic.WTF man???

OMG! I am done with stupid people who drive 20 mph under the speed limit, changing lanes with no blinker, being lost and not knowing where the hell they are going and always being in my way!!!!

What the French toast? Move the fuck out of the way and let someone who needs to get somewhere get there already! I have no patience anymore!

Dog Show.

The Westminster Kennel Club is on this week. I love the dog show. I can name almost all the breeds. As a kid my Mom and Dad would put this on and we'd watch and root for the Pekingese. It seemed the Pekingese was always in the Best of Show finals. We rooted mostly because we owned Pekingese's ourselves. Now I root for the Yorkies. (Duh!!) I have Gobo here with me and we're watching with great interest. The Toy group is on right now. Go Yorkies!!

Incidentally, I watched "Best In Show" for the first time last month. Oh! Em! Gee! Way too fucking funny, but you just know the real dog handlers are JUST like that!!!

One thing I could do without is the 5 kajillion Animal shelter commercials. Yes I get the idea. Raise awareness for the millions of dogs in shelters right now, but they are approaching overkill. For every regular commercial they show, there are three shelter commercials. People will start to tune it out.

PK. Time to get back to the show. I even pre-empted HHH's wrestling show because of this!

This is what we made for dinner.
We smoked two chickens.
I am now stuffed to the gills.

People Of Wal-Mart.

You have all seen the site, People of Wal-Mart, right? The one where people take photos of the outrageous and insanely stupid shit they see in their local wall to wall mart and put it on the Internet for everyone to see? Yeah, that place. Well, HHH and I went to Wal-Mart today, and though we have seen some pretty stupid stuff there, I have to say it is the intelligence of the average person there that really gets to me. Like the guy who just has to have that box of beer on the bottom of the stack, or the moron who sends their young kids to play alone in the electronics department and hassle everyone else while they run off to shop for panties or some other crap. Yeah, those brain surgeons deserve an award, but HHH and I really met one today who took the cake for me!

See, we had a little shopping to do and because it was Saturday, everyone else was there at the Wal-Mart shopping too. That was our first mistake. Still, we had left the kids at home playing Wii, so we figured we'd get in, get done, and get out with as little hassle as possible. Nope. Oh, the shopping went fast enough, but it was the check out that was a nightmare. We like to use the self checkout. It is faster that the actual people checkout. We like fast and easy. (Hell, I know HHH likes fast and easy, he married me!) So we get up to the check out and of course it is packed out the ass. Old people and tourists as far as the eye can see. We get over to self check out and there is this old lady standing in what we thought was a line to the right of us, so HHH maneuvers over to a line to the front and the left. Suddenly, this old lady screeches in a huffy voice, "EXCUSE ME!! There is a line here and we are all taking turns going to what ever checkout finishes next." Um.... no. That isn't how it works. You pick a register, get in line, and wait your turn that way. HHH and I both tell this woman we didn't know she was in any line since she was basically in the middle of 4 registers blocking the whole shebang. She starts huffing and puffing, looking like a fancy chicken getting it's feathers ruffled. We go back to the "line" she swears is there and end up going to the register we would have been at anyway and as we start to put our groceries on the counter, we hear her sputter, "This is why I hate Wal-Mart!"

I didn't get it. Why block 4 lanes of check out because you can't commit to just one? That lady has issues. We checked out and bagged and left before she even got 3 things rung up from her cart. And to top it all off, she wouldn't put her purchases in the bags, just kept dumping them back in the cart so the machine kept stopping and saying, "Please place item in the bagging area." 500 times. Tubby the check out Tender kept having to lumber over to her to reset the machine and I swear he was muttering "Eat that bitch!" under his breath the last time he waddled by. We left before he could make her an afternoon snack.

So that's my People of Wal-Mart story. So much fun to go shopping there. So, what's your Wal-Mart story??

I don't feel good. I haven't done anything to feel bad. I have avoided gluten, been eating good food, getting exercise, and almost getting enough sleep. I shouldn't feel like crap right about now. Now, Junior has been ill, but he's been home from school for the last 3 days( I don't send sick kids to school!) But I haven't been too close to him. I've had to work. I have been racking my brain and going nuts trying to think of why I feel icky, then it hit me......

Sunday is Valentine's Day.

I have a beautiful dress...... two of them in fact so I can choose what ever one I want t wear. We have reservations at a fine restaurant. We have plans to go see "When In Rome" at the movie theater. Of course I am feeling like crap. I can't believe I actually thought plans would go off without a hitch. I try never to make plans. More often than not they never go through. Usually something happens or something comes up. Very rarely does it go exactly as planned. My life is just like that. So I imagine on Sunday, I am going to wake up with a raging head cold and a Rudolph red nose or something like that. It's just my luck.

Also happening here at the Blondefabulous household, Rebecca went to a dance at school tonight. The whole time she was getting ready, HHH and I were hazing her as only parents can. I was threatening to drive her up to the school in a bathrobe and curlers and even walk her to the door! HHH was hiking his pants waist band up to his nipples and had a half shirt on and was teasing her that he wanted to go to the dance as a chaperon! She was almost in tears by the time it was time to leave for the dance. We were nice and dressed normally, but it was still hi-lar-ious. I find that I am enjoying razzing my newly minted teenager.

OK.... going to go relax now. Hopefully I can feel better so I don't tank this weekend.

Moving Target

Lately, I have felt like one. I can name at least 5 times this week alone where I was aimed at by other drivers. And, No Putz, they weren't all older American's so don't think I am labeling them as the bad seeds here!! The best part was when I was on a divided highway with a raised median separating the lanes and some idiot got confused and started coming at me in THE WRONG LANE!!! I was almost head on'ed because someone wasn't paying attention. Sometimes I blame the car and the fact we are a rolling billboard. People tend to drift towards us when we're driving cause they are reading the sides.

Maybe I should wrap up in bubble wrap?

Ouch... Redux.

What do you get when you take

1 Blonde
1 Stairway
1 Mop
1 Wet Floor??

Blondie falling on her ass.... that's what.

Then I went and skated on it at Derby practice. I have several yummy bruises. I'm thinking of starting an album of photos of them.

OK... time for ice and tylenol.

Oh Hell No!

You guys remember the crazy bitch right? The client I have to personally clean every other Monday because she is freakin' insane and no on e else will put up with her bullshit? Yeah.... that bitch. Today she went too far.

She put her hands on me.

I'm not talking a tap on the shoulder or a bump.... she grabbed my upper arm and hauled me over to look at something!!! HARD!!!! It took every thing I had not to slap the taste out of her mouth! I smiled and nodded and did my damnedest to try and listen to what she was saying. Inside I was seething. It's bad enough she accuses us of lying, sloth, and incompetence..... the hell I'm going to go back to that place again without letting her know I wasn't amused with the little game she was playing. Fuck that!

I got back to the office and told Boss Lady about it. Boss Lady was amazed at first, then said I should have let the crazy bitch know that wasn't cool right away. I told Boss Lady I wanted to let her know what had happened first before I took action. I didn't want to be accused of over reacting. I may be very hard pressed to go back to that woman's home. I'll be damned if I'll let her touch me again in any way, shape, or form. That goes the same for any of my people. She does it again and I don't care what state of disarray her condo is in. I will pack up my stuff and my girls and tell her to have a nice life.... WE QUIT! I should have done that today, but I wanted to step back and take deep breaths first. You know, cooler heads prevailing and all that.

All I know for sure is she is gonna get hip checked the next time she touches me, courtesy of Blondefabulous, #11 of the SRG!

Adventures In Fabulousness!

So... as you all saw and read, CissaFireheart and I had an absolutely fabulous time at Universal Studio's Mardi Gras last night. The day started out interestingly enough. I didn't leave till around 3. HHH and I went for a ride on the motorcycle down to Siesta Key and got into the middle of this. It wasn't pretty and it's a good thing I know back roads to almost ALL of Sarasota because we had to use a few to get out of there. Then is was back home for me to pack. Time to go. I packed up, loaded up, and kissed HHH good bye and started down the road.
After about 2 hours and a couple of wrong turns, I ended up at Fireheart Mansion. I almost didn't get in because the guy in the gate house at the front of the community didn't want to let me in! I called my girl though and soon I was meeting Misk and the Minions. I brought the Minions "Whip It" posters I'd autographed, and they were suitably impressed that they were meeting a Roller Girl. Cissa was awesome enough to have picked me up some salad and dressing and even grilled a chicken breast for me for dinner! Totally gluten free and awesome! Then we were off in Cissa's van to Universal Studio's!!!

It was interesting when we got there. Parking was problematic at first. Namely the point of we couldn't find any!! After doing infinite doughnuts around the structure, we found where someone had left and soon we were walking over to where the fun was just beginning. The concert stage was set up, the Rip, Ride, Rocket was running non stop, and we found a nice corner to see the parade from. Unfortunately, we were under a tree. (The tree caught more beads than we did.) After that was over, we went in search of Hot Chocolate because it was frickin' C-O-L-D!!!!! I had my motorcycle jacket on so I was OK, but poor Cissa was freezing in her thin hoodie! We didn't find hot chocolate, but we did find the Starbucks tent in the French Quarter food court they had. We also found half dressed boys taking photos with the tourists! You know us girls had to get in on that action!!! I felt really old though, because one of them tried to convince Cissa to go buy him alcohol. Sigh......

Finally, the concert started. KC & the Sunshine band was awesome. He played his old hits, some new covers, and ended on "Get Down Tonight". It was the shit! That new hip seemed to be working out really well for him! I had to agree with Cissa that the people watching was the best. There was this douche in a track suit that looked like he just walked off from the Jersey Shore set! I kid you not he had the accent, attitude, and Guido-ish disposition. I was looking around for Snookie. The there was the random drunk people who made me glad we opted for only coffee!

After the concert was over, we hoofed it back to the van and started back to Fireheart mansion. As we're driving along, I look ahead and notice the headlights seem to be flickering. The I hear Cissa mutter, "Oh fuck." Then I notice that the rest of the electrical things in the car are going down. We whip into a gas station and the van electrical just DIES! Cissa calls Misk and we have him follow us back. I had a feeling if we had tried to go it alone we'd have broken down somewhere where the lilting strains of dueling banjos would have been the last thing we heard! Once back at Fireheart Mansion, wine was in order and we unwound and went to sleep.
As I was sleeping, my computer went into sleep mode and quit charging my iPhone. I didn't know this, so when I woke up, I had several frantic voicemails from HHH. He had gotten up, seen my tweets about car trouble, and had assumed that it was our car that had broken down! I was apparently remiss in my Tweets the night before in not mentioning it was Bertha, Cissa's van, that was having the trouble. Sorry honey. I called him after re plugging in my phone and got an earfull. I reassured him everything was OK, it wasn't our van, and I was fine. After that it was time for a cup of coffee, a quick game of Guess Who, and a shower, and then it was time to head back home to Sarasota. I left with hugs, instructions to send a photo of flamingos, and a new bloggy bestest friend!!!!! I want to thank The Fireheart clan for having me over and I really want to thank Cissa for going out with me! I had the best time. I highly recommend it!

Mardi Gras

Here I am Meditating on life and beads acquisition.
And here's the lovely CissaFireheart enjoying some Mardi Gras entertainers!
Then there's the two of us being absolutely silly after an infusion of caffeine from the Starbucks stand. It was a welcome infusion too, since it was colder than heck out there! And really REALLY windy too!
We got plenty of beads. Probably would have gotten more except we were right under a tree and it coaught the most of anyone there.
and here is random Mardi Gras boy with beads. Cissa and I said we'd blog about him if he gave us some beads. (I lied and said I was "really big" on the internet!) LOL!

And that's it for now. We got back rather late due to a car problem so I am tired as all get out! Blog ya later gators!

Yes I am. Very tired.
So you get cute puppy pictures.
Because he is just so damn cute!
And he is just so helpful to mommy at work.
Plus the fact that he has those brown eyebrows just kills me!

I'll write more tomorrow...... maybe.

Well, made it through another practice tonight. I was a little slow, but I was chalking that up to having a sinus full of dust from a house I went to and cleaned. See, we have this customer who I've cleaned their house ever since I started working here. They were just an occasional customer but this past summer the husband said if I was the one to come and supervise the clean he'd schedule regularly. So I said OK and got them scheduled. The weird thing is they may own a house, but they sure don't know how to take care of it! I have been there and seen black mold in their sinks, leaks in their plumbing, and today I found out they didn't have a filter on their inside air intake! It was so caked in dust and grime it rained dust bunnies down on me when I opened it up! I got the husband and showed him the vents and the amount of crap that was in his duct work and he was nodding saying he thought his allergies were acting up every time his air conditioner turned on! I told him no wonder!!! Then I suggested he get estimates for duct cleaning. So now I have a stuffy head and a grateful customer. Whee. One of these days I'll learn to quit while I'm ahead.
Now I am ready for the weekend. I'm tired, sore from derby, and if things go my way I'm gonna see Mardi Gras and KC and the Sunshine band on Saturday! If things REALLY go my way I will be seeing KC with the amazing and lovely CissaFireheart and her girls!! I am psyched. I wish HHH could go, but he's on call. Boo, hiss!! Anyway, we'll see. Now it's time for bed. I am beat and this week has kicked my ass! Goodnight all!

Ah..... work. That eternal angst that gets us out of bed in the morning. The killer of cozy bed times, the single most detested reason people give for being tired and frustrated.

I have been kicking ass at my job lately. Wednesday alone I landed a client at $240 a month, and got an existing client to up their service to weekly instead of monthly! That will bring in another $300 a month. If I keep this up I'll have the Crazy Monday lady gone soon, but then again, maybe not. I asked Boss Lady if I was close to replacing her income so we could drop her and Boss Lady started waffling. I hate it when people say something and then reneg on their statement. Hrmph.

In other news, the motorcycle is pretty frickin' awesome! HHH and I have been riding every chance we get. Today was interesting though, because I got a frantic call from HHH. Seems the bike stalled out and he couldn't get it to turn back on. I ran out to get the kids from school and halfway through that I called HHH again to see where he was and what was going on with the bike. Turns out......IT WAS OUT OF GAS!!! Yep. There is no gas gauge on the Triumph bikes, so you have to keep an eye on your mileage. So I got the kids home and HHH drove me back to work on the motorcycle. Then after work he came to get me on it and we rode to get Chinese before going home. It's fun to ride with my scarf cheerily fluttering behind me as we speed off to somewhere unknown. Yes we are dorky like that!

So now I am going to take a few tylenol, eat some chips and salsa, and try not to think about how much my legs and ankles hurt from Derby practice the other night.

Owwie doesn't even begin to cover it!

Got back in the swing of derby practice tonight. It was awesome. I haven't lost too much of my stamina thank goodness. Now to just catch up on the strategy the coaches have been preaching.

I only got knocked down once and that was because someone got knocked down in front of me.. Pretty good over all I'd say.

Now I need to soak in a hot tub and ice some joints.

Good Night Gracie!

  • Yow! I was told off today! The new woman that we hired two weeks ago handed me a 3 month calender that only had her available to work with us for two days a week! Um... WTF?? When she interviewed with us, We told her the position was a part time 5 day a week position. She countered with the fact that she volunteer's at the hospital here on Fridays, so I said OK, I can take 4 days a week. You can't agree to that and come back a week later and reduce your availability down to 8 days out of the month! Then I tried to talk to her about it today and she instantly assumed I was firing her on the spot. No, I was trying to be honest about how her new "availability" wasn't going to work for the company. Either way she's gone as of tomorrow. Sheesh....
  • Took Gobo for his checkup today. The Vet says he is a very healthy, happy puppy. That makes me feel better. I got him from a well known puppy emporium and everyone always talks about how they are puppy mill puppies and they aren't healthy, they have disease, etc, etc, etc..... I just feel like they deserve as much of a chance as any other animal. Plus, Gobo is so freakin' cute!
  • HHH ordered me two dresses yesterday. From Victoria's Secret! O!M!G! I can shop at VS now! I picked this one and this one.
  • The cat is really jealous of Gobo. Not in the "I'm gonna kick your ass" way, but the "I'm going to love Mommy & Daddy more than you" way. He's up here in bed with us right now. Silly kitty!
  • Edge is back on WWE. Didn't think he'd be back after that Achilles tendon separation. Not anything ya'll care about, but hey, I watch wrestling.
Ok, I'm tired. Gotta clean tomorrow. Sigh.... At least I am starting a new lady on Wednesday. One who does have open availability. I like open availability!
