What's The Name Of The Game? I WIN!!!

Men are such simple creatures. They are led around by their penises. It's just a fact of life. Example...

For the last two days, we have been trying to sell a dryer. It is a very nice dryer. Practically brand new! All the bells and whistles, you know the drill.... Anywhoo, HHH got this dryer from the job he's at now. It isn't one of theirs, it was left behind in a unit by a skip, and they wanted it G-O-N-E so they could turn the unit and get another tenant in there. So..... HHH put an ad on Craigslist and got a bite the very next day. This guy said he wanted the dryer, but couldn't get it until Sunday. Alright, we'd meet him Sunday at his storage unit and exchange merchandise for $$$. Sunday rolls around and the guy is MIA. HHH gets him on the phone first thing around noon, but the guy is still out of town and won't be back until later. We wait. And wait. AND WAIT! Finally, HHH gets upset and re posts the dryer again, but I am wondering what happened to the guy in the first place. I don't do well with rude people. If you're gonna be late, call. If you found something else you wanted, call so we can re post. Don't be an asshole and leave us hanging.

I got the bright idea to call the guy's number from my cell. He hasn't seen my number, therefore, if he's dodging us, he may pick up for me. No dice. I got the voicemail. HHH tells me to hang up, but I got an idea. An AWFUL idea, Blondefabulous got a wonderful, AWFUL idea! I wait for the beep and in my lowest, sexiest voice, I say...

"Oooo Dryer Guy! It's soooo great to hear your voice. This is Blondefabulous. Listen, I REALLLLLLY need to talk to you. Could you Pleeeeeease call me back when you get this? I sure do appreciate it! Byeeeeeeee!"

I got a call back in 5 minutes!

He started with some spiel about was I his sister or which Blondefabulous was I and all that. Yeah right! I said in my regular voice...

"No. This is Blondefabulous with the dryer and I was wondering why it is still in the back of my van when it was supposed to be at your place tonight?"

I wasn't mean or anything. Just firm in whether or not he was really going to buy it. He said he was and gave me some dog and pony show about he got back too late and the storage place was closed now and whatever. He said he was to be off work all day tomorrow, and I said I could meet him after Rebecca's Ortho appointment. HHH was in the background laughing the whole time, and shaking his head that that worked!

So, like I said. Men. Ruled by the all-mighty(or all-mini) penis!

What's the name of the game??

That's How I Roll.

I don't have a very big blog roll. It's occupants can be counted on two hands only, with fingers to spare. The reason for this is simple, yet complex at the same time.

When I began blogging, it wasn't out of any kind of great epiphany or need to use it as a therapy tool, it was because I had started reading blogs. I was on the UF Alumni website and saw a button that said "BLOGS" and clicked it. There, I found Finn. I started reading every day. From Finn I reached out and started reading other blogs. Funny blogs, Sad blogs, Day to day blogs. Out of that, I began writing myself, and I was suddenly hooked! My blog roll reflects the people I read first in that infant stage of blogging I was in at the time.

Over the years, I had begun to read more people. I started using tools to help in this. MyBlogLog, Google Reader, you guys know the drill. Twitter made finding blogs to satisfy my thirst even easier. Still, I haven't updated the short, sweet roll in the side bar. It sits there, abbreviated, like an old photograph from my youth. I see it and I remember where it started. It is the memento I can't throw away. Funny how something so innocuous can mean so much.

Anyway, the point I am trying to make is, if you have ever included me in your blog roll, I am truly grateful. It means more than you can ever know. I am still amazed when I look at Woopra and see my stats. Not really great stats, but the fact that anyone comes to read my blog is amazing to me. You may not be on my blog roll, but if you are, it's because you were my firsts. (insert sappy "Aaawwww" here)

What makes you put someone's blog on your roll?

I Cannot Blogz Today, I haz Teh Tiredz.

I fell asleep watching Psych.

My husband, not knowing I was asleep, reached over to fondle my rather large boob.

I woke up screaming because there was a hand fondling me in my sleep.

I almost peed myself.

HHH laughed his ass off at me.

I am now going to catch up on my Zzzzzz's.

HHH is still laughing.

There will be no "special" lovin' tonight in retaliation for the laughter.

What Have You Been Up To?

I get that question all the time. Most recently, I was asked that question by an old high school friend who just found me on Facebook. "So...", she asks, "What have you been up to since we last talked?" I think to myself, "EVERYTHING!" but in reality I say, "Not too much." Now what I really want to say is....

"Um... I have a blog that I know you know about. Why didn't you read it?"

The facts just hit me over and over again. I'm NOT that big a deal on the Internet. Yeah I have a blog, and yeah, I keep up with other bloggers who are kind enough to come over and comment from time to time,(and save my ass last February), but really, in the grand scheme of things, I am merely a blip in the Internet's existence. If tomorrow there was no Blondefabulocity, I don't think that many would miss it. There are far more popular blogs out there like Adam's, Britt's, and Dave's. There's also other things like Twitter, Facebook, etc etc.... keeping people busy as well. I don't have Oprah stumping for my blog, or Ashton trying to get me 1,000,000 tweeps. I'm just a working mom trudging through the world taking care of my family. It's what matters to me. Does it matter to anyone else? Maybe, maybe not..... but I am a font of information to those with questions about the real world business of Celiac's or diabetes. I've been called upon to answer cooking questions, cleaning questions, and even pet questions! I have something besides stories from the Mom side of life to offer the Internet people's.

I guess what I am trying to say, is that "I" feel like I am a big deal. I was a little offended when my friend asked me, "What have you been up to?", because I have a daily, running log of almost EVERYTHING I have been up to since I last talked to her! How could she not remember that? Sigh......

Then I remembered that she still lives in Podunkville, Florida and thought, maybe they just didn't get Internet there until last week.

I can hope, right? Time to start handing out those business cards I won!!

Four Eyes!

I have been wearing my glasses as of late. My contact lens saw fit to split in two right in my eye, (go figure), and with work and bills, I haven't been able to get to the eye doc. The one day I did try, they doctor didn't take my insurance, even though I was given that specific doctor's name by the insurance carrier. Someone PLEASE update the damn rolls! It can't be that hard.

So, I have been wearing the glasses I got back in 2001. They are quite beat up and bent, but they still have the right prescription. I always got contacts because they just worked better in the jobs that I did. Cooking, cleaning, kids......... they are non glasses kinds of things. Yeah, I could do it with glasses, (and I am for right now.), but I find it easier with out them. Anyhoo.... I am going to get a contact exam this weekend...... at a walk in place..... that I will pay for out of my own pocket.... because I am tired of going to places that don't accept my insurance...... even though the insurance company SAYS it does. I am also thinking about getting my glasses replaced. The lenses are a little scratched, but still workable, yet they'll probably want to replace the whole shebang because of the length of time I've had them. That's great, but that would mean I'd need to find a new pair of frames. That might be a problem.

I'm picky.

You may not see me in them often, but when you do, I want the frames of my glasses to say, "Watch out world! Blonde & Fabulous is coming your way!!" Something tells me that is a rather tall order for a simple pair of frames. Or maybe a nice pair of "naughty librarian" frames.... that would make HHH happy! Something tells me I'll be sitting in front of the frame display with my jaw on the floor at the prices though. (I have to buy the frames, the lenses are covered.) The other day I saw a simple pair, not much on them frill wise, that cost $180. $180?? $180!!!!!! What the hell were they made of? Sunshine and fairy shit? Solid gold? There is no Earthly reason a bunch of wires and screws should cost that much, especially when it's something someone needs for a good quality of life! Maybe I should just buy a few more boxes of contact lenses and keep the old glasses.

That would be much cheaper.

Pushy Or Supportive?

This is something I have been wondering about for a little while now. When we clean, we do a lot of single family houses that have two kids or more. These are affluent people with disposable income and much of said income is disposed on said kids. The ways this income is disposed on these children varies. Sports for some. Dance for others. Fine arts for some more. Art for others. The houses are full of it. Pictures, photos, trophies, and costumes. One kids family sends her to Acting day care. Yes, an actual theater day care. This kid is 4. How much of this does the kid actually pick up? So here is my question.....

When does being a supportive parent stop and being a pushy stage/sport parent start?

Like with the 4 year old actor..... does that kid actually know what she's doing is acting, or is it just a fun activity with crazy dress up that goes with it? Or the soccer kid's parents.... are they the driving force behind this boy's being in soccer every year, or is the kid really a soccer fanatic? It's getting hard to tell. I see the kids sometimes in the morning when we get to a place early. The Mom's and Dad's are all, "Let's go Joshua! Your soccer practice starts in an hour and you want to be there early to practice for practice." or "Amanda! if you don't get your shoes on and get your dance bag we are going to be late and you'll never get the lead in the ballet!". I shake my head.

Now, I have my girls in dance. One attends the Sarasota Ballet, and the other the Dance program in her Magnet Middle School, but I swear to GOD I have never sounded like that! It's almost like the parent is the one who wants to get to practice early...... weird. They are living vicariously through their kids. I made sure my girls were at practice, were picked up on time, and I always go to the recitals! I like to be supportive, but I want them to want to do this for themselves, not because I am out there rooting them on. Rebecca has decided that she would like to try Spanish next year because chorus wasn't what she thought it would be for her. I said OK. Great. Have at that Spanish language! (Of course, she also got into advanced ballet and dance for next year too and that is truly where her heart is!) If that's what she wants, I will be supportive in that as well, speaking Spanish with her all the way!

I wonder if little Josh or Amanda's moms would feel the same way.

Douchebaggery..... Who Needs It!

Sigh...... There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about douchebaggery. It happens all the time all over the world. It has even happened to me at the hands of family... or supposed family. You all remember my BIL, right? The ass that we loaned money to, then when HHH lost his job and we needed it back, decided to screw us over? Yeah.... that jerk. Well, he is striking again.

In about two weeks, we are going to have a family reunion. See, When we moved up to Memphis, HHH's other brother (Here on to be known as Bro.#2)went with us. This was back in 2003. While we were up there, Bro.#2 met a girl, got married, and stayed up in Tennessee while we moved back to Florida. Subsequently, HHH's Dad, (here on known as Pops), hasn't seen his other son in about 6 years! That's quite a while! To make this happen, we bought Bro.#2 a plane ticket for the weekend. For even more fun, we are all going to Universal too. HHH and I are buying Bro.#2 and Pops tickets to both parks and fast passes. We are getting a hotel room for Friday and Saturday, then driving up to Lake City to spend Sunday with Pops before having to drive Bro.#2 back to the airport so he can fly back to Memphis. A whirlwind weekend to be sure.

Now, all we have asked of F*ckwad BIL was for him to go up to Lake City and pick up Pops because Pop's car is in need of new tires and can't make the trip. F*ckwad BIL said he couldn't afford the gas, so HHH told him he'd give him $40 for gas. Yesterday, HHH was talking to Pops on the phone and found out that F*ckwad BIL had called Pops and asked him for $50 for gas for that weekend too! Um..... excuse me? We already have it arranged to give you money. Why in the hell are you hitting up your Dad for more? I just have to sigh and take a deep breath. It's already going to be difficult for me to get through that weekend without telling him about his ass. The only thing that keeps me from doing it is that Karma came around and bit him in the ass by way of after he spent up all his tax money, he fell on hard times himself. What goes around, comes around..... don't try and fool yourself!

Now, at T-minus 2 weeks to go, I am just wondering what other kind of douchebaggery is going to come out of F*ckwad BIL's camp. I just have to keep taking deep, cleansing breaths and thinking good thoughts.

It will all be worth it.

That describes me to a T today. I got up at 8. Had morning delight with HHH at 8:05. Went to IHOP for brunch. Took the car to a car wash to clean it out. came home and relaxed a little before going to the mall to shop for a sundress.

I finally found one too. Is it so hard to ask for pretty spring colors in spring? I kept seeing blacks, browns, and dark drab colors. I don't want to look drab.... I wanna look springy and flirty and awesome!! Finally after looking the whole day, we found one at Old Navy. It's yellow and white, shows a fair amount of cleavage, and looks cool. It will be so awesome. Now I just need to find shoes to go with it and I'm set!

I did get three loads of laundry done, so it wasn't a total loss for today!

Tomorrow, I'll be doing more of the same!

Lazy, that's me!

Cat splatter.

Think about it. What the hell is it? How the hell do you get it everywhere? Why the hell does your lazy ass live with it for weeks at a time until you finally have to call in a cleaning service to take care of the problem?

Cat splatter.

I had to clean cat splatter today. I thought yesterday's indignity of emptying a large can of adult diapers was bad....... today was worse. What made it even better was the fact that my boss only gave my partner and I 1 1/2 hours to clean this lady's condo. It did not bode well for us. First of all, it was a first time cleaning. The first time a service comes to clean for you, it takes a little longer because you've obviously let a few, (if not all) things go for quite a while. It will take a little extra time to reign these things in, like dusting all of the blinds both front AND back, i.e.- not just the parts you can see, but all of the blinds. Oh, and detailing your refrigerator, both inside and out. Basically, all the crap you never feel like doing, we do. An hour and a half was NOT enough time to do all this because, on top of what my boss asks us to do, this woman left a 2 PAGE letter, detailing what she would like us to do on top of that. Part of that list was "Please remove all cat splatter from the walls. It tends to build up." Um.... no shit!(She owns 4 cats and one dog, and none of them looked any too healthy.) I don't even want to know what the hell the cat is doing that it is splattering all over the walls!!! (it was brown in color.)

To make the job even better, my Boss showed up with the new Manager to see how it was going. It wasn't going well, and then they started nit picking. I had been fighting with the cat splatter and wasn't even remotely done, but there they were, criticizing the job. Um, it was your bright idea to only give us 1 1/2 hours to do this cluster f*ck of a job, remember? Finally they sent us on to our next job, 20 minutes late because of the mess we were trying to deal with. As we were leaving I heard the parting comment of "You go ahead, we'll fix your mistakes."

Um..... f*ck you very much. Give me enough time and I'll have everything finished next time. Thanks and have a pleasant day.

So now I am sitting here, writing about cat splatter and thinking about going to Universal tomorrow to make me feel better...... oh and taking the family with me. That would be super!

Maybe I just need a stiff drink.

Cat splatter. I may never recover!

The Concert That Almost Wasn't.

This is Rebecca at her Spring Concert at BMS. We almost didn't get there because in all of the crap that was our Thursday, we totally forgot she had a concert at all. She forgot, I forgot, we all forgot! I drove like a mad woman and got her there before it started. I explained t the teacher tha we were at the ER with her brother(big fat lie), and sorry I had her there late for rehearsal. All better!
I would like to write about how the kids did great. Not only was it a concert for the choirs, but also for the band, wind ensamble, and orchestra as well. All of the kids did very well. There were a few pieces that I had to remind myself that I was watching a MIDDLE school perform because it was so good. Yeah, I'd like to do that, but I can't. The post I have is about respect.

You see..... there was none for these hard working kids. I got to the place early with Rebecca so I got a good seat up front, but it wasn't to be a great seat because some woman brought her rowdy crotch spawn to ruin it. Note: 3 year olds rarely sit still, so bringing them to a music concert that doesn't feature Wiggles or Barney is a stupid idea. I was kicked, poked, pushed, and bumped throughout the entire show! And it wasn't like the woman didn't know that her child was doing this becuase at one point she told her child to sit up and stop it, but 3 year olds have the attention span of a gnat so that lasted all of about 5 seconds!

Oh and the adults! At least the child had an excuse for being annoying..... he was a child after all. The adults were unforgivable! These kids have put in countless hours to perfect their pieces for this show. For the 8th graders, it was their final show at that school before moving on to High School. Did any of the people watching take this into consideration before opening their fat yaps and blabbing all throughout the show? Hell no! They just blabbed and blabbed, making it difficult to hear anything sometimes. I was seriously disappointed. When I was in music at school, the audience was respectful. The were quiet when the musicians were playing. Crying babies were taken out of the hall. proper respect was given to the performers...... it's not rocket science people! Just shut up and watch. Please!!!

So that's all. Oh.... and this.

Rich & Poor.

I made a few observations while cleaning. Nothing spectacular like the answers to world hunger or how to make Windows Vista not suck, but still, it sort of struck me as funny.

Rich people buy things they do not use. I have been in houses with HUGE gourmet kitchens that have professional grade appliances. Huge 6 burner gas stoves, walk in coolers, you name it. It N_E_V_E_R gets used. I clean the dust off of them every other week because these people do not cook at home. Why are you going to have that beautiful kitchen and never use it?

Rich people are afraid of getting old. When I clean the bathrooms there are tons of creams, pills, lotions, and serums. The boxes promise youth, no wrinkles, tighter skin, and longevity. From what I can tell, it all is a bunch of hooey! They look just like anyone their age. In fact, the only client we clean for that looks way younger than her age is the Acupuncture Lady. She does facial acupuncture and it works. The woman is 68, but looks like she's 45!

Rich people leave money laying around everywhere. I don't know why, but at several houses I have seen as much as $500 just laying around all over. I am a sincerely honest woman, and it has never entered my head to pick up any of this cash, but damn it! Half of these people leave their doors open on the days we are coming so we can get in. (They don't trust us with a spare key.) If some thief off the street decided to waltz up and try his luck, the clients would be out a crap load of money! They'd probably blame us too!

Rich people like really tall beds. I'm talking REALLY tall,..... like 4 feet tall. They even have little steps on each side of the bed so they can get in it. Why do you need a bed that tall? If you need steps to get in bed at night, the bed is too tall! Or you're too short..... something like that. I couldn't sleep on something that if I fell out of bed I'd need to go to the hospital. Wouldn't make for sweet dreams.

That's a few of the things I have noticed. Pretty weird right?

Tuesday Shuffle.

**Well, there was more rain today. Supposed to be rain all week. Oh, and the weather guy said we may possibly get a Tropical Storm sometime this week. It's not even Hurricane season yet. All this rain makes hauling cleaning stuff to and from the company car a pain in the you know what.

**HHH was snooping in my 12 year old's email and found a link to a site called eSpin. It's a social hook up site. I was NOT amused! We questioned her about it and why she had it when I had specifically forbade any social sites for her. She has had it for 3 months AND she had herself on there as being 19!!!! AAAAAUUUUUGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!! Oh I do not think so young lady! I deleted that account right away and then changed the password to her email account so I could keep an eye on her. We'll be doing the snoop thing a little more often now.

**I worked until 5pm on Tuesday. That was the longest day so far I have done with GWHC(the company). We only did 3 houses, but one took 3 hours, and another took 2 1/2. The last place would have only taken 2 hours, but the locks were changed and the client forgot to tell us. We were standing outside for a good half hour just twiddling thumbs.

**Some people don't deserve pets. I say this because one of the houses we went to had a Labrador that was skinny. REALLY skinny. I could see his hips and spine through his coat. He wasn't sick either because we gave him a bowl of food and he tore into it like he hadn't been fed in days. I am contemplating calling the ASPCA on them as long as I can stay anonymous. (Don't need to get fired.) I knew my pet was unhappy and even though it killed me, found him a better home...... these people need to do the same, or I'll do it for them.

**After getting back to the office today my boss at GWHC asked me about becoming a Team Leader. Being a team leader involves being in charge of the people you work with, checking behind your co workers, and doing the writing down of times in and out in the book along with taking the checks. I could do it. It means an extra $1 an hour. Boss Lady is concerned with the time I take off though. I explained that I wasn't expecting to have to take off for Rebecca's brokenness, but the doctor's appointments for Morgan and Junior were unavoidable since DCF would be at my door if I missed those. She asked me about the summer and I said I had that covered, so I guess we'll see. Hmm..... 2 months on the job and I am already being offered a possible promotion...... I WILL RULE THAT PLACE!

**Bullets are the easiest post to do when you are tired from having worked 9 hours in the drizzling rain. But then, you already knew that before getting to the end of this post, didn't you?

Monday, May 18, 2009

At least today did. Let me enlighten you as to my Monday.

The cat woke me up at 5:45am. Just waltzed over to the side of the bed and "MRROOOOOWWWWRRRRR" as loud as he could. I was not amused. I was, however, awake. It was a good thing though, because I forgot to set the alarm the night before. So now I am awake early. Yeah it's only 15 minutes, but dang it..... I would have liked those minutes to be spent sleeping!

I get up and get going. I get the kids up and going as well. We all get dressed and HHH opens the door to herd everyone out to the car.

The back tire is flat. Somewhere we picked up a screw and the tire flattened out over the night. Just great. I give HHH all the cash I have plus my bike and he hauls ass to the corner gas station for a can of Fix-A-Flat. I LOVE fix-a-flat! It is a great product. He fills the tire, we all get in, and we drive around to distribute the stuff inside of the tire. HHH then goes around to try and put a little more air in the tires, but every damn gas station we stopped at had air machines that totally sucked! One didn't even have a working compressor, but it also didn't have an out of order sign either. There was $.75 down the drain.

We get everyone to where they need to go and Rebecca and I get back to the house. I change into my "Super Mom Goes To Town" clothes and we are off to Dr. Fatmi's office. We get there and I start filling out the beginning paperwork for Rebecca. An HOUR later, the woman behind the counter calls me up and says Rebecca hasn't been assigned Dr. Fatmi as her physician. Um..... excuse me? Both her brother and sister go here. Why would they get assigned Dr. Fatmi and their older sibling get someone else? Especially if I had not been told this?? I was pissed, but I took the phone numbers she gave me and drove back home. That was an hour and a half wasted. I then got on the phone and tried to get someone, ANYONE to talk to me. No dice. I got a recording saying if I wanted Rebecca's doctor changed to Dr. Fatmi, leave my name, number, and her ID# and they will change it and get back to me. Great.

Well, since I couldn't get Rebecca in to see the Doctor, I decided to try and drop in on the Optomotrist. My glasses are less than stellar right now. I started wearing them all day because the stuff we use at work was irritating my eyes. The lenses are still good, but my frames are way old. The wear and tear shows! I called last week and requested where I should go from the customer service line, and was given the local Visionworks right down the road from the house. Becca and I get there, sign in, and wait until we can be seen, and the woman behind the counter starts checking the insurance in. She comes back about an hour later and says, "I'm sorry. The doctor doesn't accept your insurance." I ask why this place was on their roster then, and she says that Visionworks takes the insurance, but the optometrist does not. Great. That was what I needed. The damn doctor. So that was an hour and a half wasted too.

Basically, I took off a day from work for nothing. That really sucks ass. Add to all of this the fact that it was monsooning on and off all day and we have the formula for why I hate Monday! At least this Monday. It just sucked. It depressed me so that I decided the only thing to make me feel better was to make chicken soup from the bone. Nothing like home made chicken and rice soup to warm up the soul on a particularly soul sucking day like Monday. It also came in handy for HHH because he was out in the weather all day today. (My chicken soup is a natural cold remedy.) Still, I blame HHH for the rotten day. See, he asked the unaskable question today right after the second nonworking air compressor. He asked, "Oh man! What else can go wrong today?" OMG you NEVER ask that question because something else will go wrong! Has he never seen any of the "Lethal Weapon" movies??? Still, it will be Tuesday soon.

Mondai sukz! I can haz tuzdai nao?

Sunday, May 17, 2009

Today, I did something that totally amazed me. I reached into my drawer to pull out a pair of shorts so I could go drop a few loads of laundry out on the clothes line. I grabbed the first pair I came to and when I looked at it, I sighed. They were a pair I haven't been in in over 3 years. Then, just for giggles, I decided to try them on.

They fit!

Holy crap. The shorties that I haven't worn since the last time I was in Vegas are actually on my fanny as we speak. I have worn them all day. HHH has been appreciative. VERY appreciative! All this is because I have been eating better, getting active more, and working a job that requires I get up off my ass and go do something. I am going to keep doing it too. If I play my cards right, I can drop another 20 pounds and start feeling even better. Having added the bike to my regimen has helped out. I guess I am just saying that all the fancy schmany diets they keep advertising, all the pills that are now being recalled for killing people, and all the pricey exercise DVD's didn't do a thing for me. It was just simple changes, over time, and revamping my lifestyle that did it.

I can't wait to go sundress shopping for my birthday. I will make 37 rock.

Prima Ballerina!

So today was Morgan's recital. She was so awesome! I was a VERY proud mama.
She looked so professional in her warm ups while waiting with the other ballet students.
She was excited as well. We did stage make up, and hair. I braided her hair and twisted it up into a bun for her show piece.
She did so great. She was telling older girls in her dance what to do it looked like. She was in step with the music, in time with the beat, and on time with her partners. I was an even prouder mama when I found out she was chosen for a second piece right after her first! So both of my girls got chosen for extra ballet dances! Hooray! My girls have rhythm!

Now, for your enjoyment, Morgan's ballet, titled: Swing Your Partner.

Nine Years.

Yep. Nine. 9. Nueve. HHH & I have been on the long relationship road for almost a decade. Sometimes it seems like it was only yesterday when he started working for me at the restaurant. (I was his boss, you see.) Who knew he would become the love of my life? The twinkle in my eye? The smile on my lips? I sure didn't. I just thought, "Oh man! Look at that hot youngun' over there!!" Yep, I was a cougar on the prowl, and he was a tasty morsel!

So now, to the love of my life and the song in my heart, Happy Anniversary! I love you so much and can't wait until we go 9 more and beyond.

Oh and the photo up there has nothing to do with our anniversary. I just thought it was way cool....... and so true!

Cah-sting Today?

So, today was orthopedic day for Rebecca. We got to the appointment early because I know better than to trust doctor's offices and that things will go OK. Sure enough, as soon as we got to the office and checked in, the woman behind the counter who resembled Broomhilda started being uber bitchy. She shoved a fax number in my face and told me to get a referral faxed over from the pediatritian. I had already had it faxed over yesterday, but she snapped "We don't have it." and told me to go use the phone. Um.... excuse me? Can we be a little more polite when telling me to go f*%k myself? No? Well, f%$k you very much then. I make the call to Dr. Fatmi, the woman there tells me she faxed it yesterday, I tell her they lost it already, she sighs and says she'll fax it back over.
They called us back and we went right to an x-ray room. The elderly people already waiting took one look at Rebecca and asked, "Skateboard?" and I answered, "No... rollerskates." They chuckled amongst themselves and the nurse came and took Rebecca back for more x-rays. This was SO COOL! the lady took the shots and instantly sent them to the computer in the exam room we went in. I was impressed! After maybe 2 minutes, the Orthopedic Doc came in...... and he looked like a ringer for Anderson Cooper! Even talked like him too. He gave Rebecca good news and bad news. The good news was she would get a wrist splint on her right arm to keep it stable. It is removable and she can take it off to shower. The bad news was her left wrist was sheared off diagonally to the growth plate and needed a hard cast. That means no dance class, no PE, no bouncing it around AT ALL! I made sure to tell her dance teacher when I saw him at Morgan's ballet practice.
Here she is............ Miss Broken Wrists..... here she is......... the Queen of Clutz!
Here she is, promising N-E-V-E-R to break anything again! Namely because this little injury precludes her from the cool rides at Universal and IOA for the family reunion on June 5th, and by extension.... me as well. Someone has to wait with her!
And here we are.... all done and shopping at Publix. She chose the orange cast color. We tried to get a blue stripe, but they wouldn't do it. (Philistines)

And now, for your enjoyment..... our casting call.

Callback is in 2 weeks.

The Odds & Ends Post.

So, I was cleaning the other day, and the owner walks over and say to me,

"Are you scrubbing that toilet?"

I told him,

"No. I'm just scratching it 'cause it was itchy."

Here's your sign.

Sometimes, I get the weirdest questions and statements from customers and prospective customers alike. Like people who see us at a home or maybe at the gas station, and ask us, "Do you clean houses?" Um... no. We don't clean houses. We just move the dirt around so you can't see it. Call it stealth, dirt feng shui. Oh and the people who ask us, "Did the dirt come up off the floor?", while we are mopping. That one's a hoot! Um... the floor is a different color than it was before. That should have been the tip off right there.

Did I mention that Underpants Lady came out nekkid last week? I didn't? I must have blocked it out of my mind from the shock. I haven't been too keen on going there anymore, but the lady LIKES me. She has been requesting me on what ever team I am on when it is time to clean her condo. She's really sweet, but I don't know how much more scantily clad old lady I can take!

I did some figuring today, and I have been working for the Green company for about two months. I have lost 20 pounds in that amount of time. That works out to 10 pounds a month. If I keep this up, I may actually be in decent shape for my birthday in July! That would be super! I'd really like to get into a nice little sun dress for going to Universal this year. Maybe get my hair cut and colored again, get a nice mani/pedi...... You know! Try to live up to the pin up on my new cards! That would be so totally cool.

Well, off to relax tonight before going to the Ortho Doctor tomorrow. Please send good juju to my daughter.

My cards are here! My cards are here! MY CARDS ARE HERE!!!!!
OMG! They are so awesome! I am so excited! Yes, I am a dork.

In other news, I have two doctor's appointments for Rebecca set up. One for Thursday with the orthopedic doctor, and one for Monday with the Pediatrician, so he can see what the Ortho did. My boss is going to kill me. I keep having to take off more and more time. It's a good thing it's only part time.

And on another note. My son has lost 2, count 'em, TWO glucometers in less than a week! He lost his regular one on Friday, so I got out the extra and he lost that one on Tuesday! WTF man? I don't know what to do. I may need to glue it to his hand so he doesn't it any more! As it is, I had to call the CMS coordinator to try and get a new one from them because the ones I can just pick up at Wall to Wall Mart will not down load to their computers for analysis. What did I do for this week to be pounding on me like this??? I don't get it.

So, now I get to go to my boss and ask for two more days off from work.

Monday Was, And Still Is.

Oh jeeze! Today just wouldn't quit. I rode my bike to work since it was National Bike To Work Week. Lucky for me, the city decided that they were going to do sewer work right out front of my house on our street. Yummy smells at 8 in the morning! Oh boy!!! Then it was "drivers who think stop signs and traffic signals were optional" time! That was fun to navigate. Luckily, I ride right by the police station and court house. LOTS of uniforms, police cars, and motorcycles to slow people down. Yeah..... I planned it that way.

I then get to work and look at the book we are going to be completing. % houses. 5 HOUSES!!!!! Oh man. I did not need 5 houses. I had to get home and call Rebecca's pediatrician to get his recommendation for an orthopedic doctor to take her too. I got back at 4 but by then the Doc was out of the office. I have to try again tomorrow. HHH is also going to call from his work during lunch in case I am super busy again.

Super busy doesn't even begin to describe today at work. There were 3 of us on the team today, and we were busting ass! One of the houses we cleaned at looked like a Wookie exploded in the bathroom! Hair E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E! I was at a loss as to whether or not the guy still had any hair on his head! Oh, then some idiot was whining that we need to scrub his shower because it looks ugly. Well, yeah. It's ugly. You are too cheap to pay for us to come more often that once a month, and you don't every lift a finger to clean anything yourself! If your cheap ass would spring for once every two weeks, it wouldn't get all scummy in there, idiot! Oh, and actually USING the Tilex you keep in the shower would help too!

Sigh....... OK. Off of the cleaning high horse. I just get so disgusted when I go into a house and people are just lazy. Lazy and inconsiderate of their families. Like the faucet I cleaned today, where there was 2cm of black mildew on the underside where the water comes out. Eeeewwwwww! Wanna make it even more gross? It was their kids' faucet. The one their kids use for brushing teeth, getting water before bed, and all. Once more, with feeling.....EEEEEEEWWWWWWWW!!!!!!

So now, dear friends, I am going to relax with a screwdriver, using the Mother's Day vodka I received, and watch Monday night TV. Oh, and I got an update from Oscar's new family. He is settling in well, and has a whole lake and a HUGE yard to play in! His new family spends loads of time with him, and he is very happy. And on that note, someone tried to give me another little dog! I am a magnet for little dogs apparently.

*sigh* Time for that drink.

Gimme A Break, I Sure Deserve One.....

But not like this! You all will remember that the entire family went out to the Skate Night fundraiser for the school, right? Aaaaaaand you will remember that I blogged about Rebecca trying to miss running over a kid that fell in front of her, right? AAAANNNDDD you remember the fact that we had to leave because she landed hard and fell back on her hands, thus jamming her wrists? Well, the verdict is in. She broke not one, but BOTH of her wrists! I have a lovely CD of the x-rays to prove it. Yes, the hospital sent us home with a parting gift of her x-rays burned on to a CD-rom for us. (along with two splints, 4 ace bandages, plenty of gauze, and a sling for the worse break.)

I know it's hard to see in the pictures, but the cracks are there. The P. A. made sure to point them out to us on the screen at the hospital. Also, she has "wrinkled" the bones. WTF? Wrinkled it, you say? Um, yeah..... she hit so hard, she compressed her ulna on the right side and wrinkled it! Like when you bend a green stick and it wrinkle it. Yeah.... that. I am a little upset now. And to think, she danced through her recital with two broken bones! Now we have to make an appointment with an Ortho Doctor for next week and see if we need to have hard casts put on. I am hoping not. As it is, she will be missing out on most of the fun of our planned family reunion trip to Universal Studios & IOA. There is no way they are going to let her on the rides with two casted up arms. guess she and I will wait for everyone else in the family lounge!

I'm glad it doesn't hurt to laugh. She says she feels silly now. Well, what can I say? She looks silly. At least she is having a sense of humor about it all. She is my daughter.... warped humor and all!

Mamaaaaaaa... Just Killed A Maaaaaan.....

.... because really. Who could you possibly say that last sentence to and know you are still loved. Yo momma, that's who! Who is there for you when you're down? When you need words of encouragement? When you need advice on life in general? Well maybe 75% of the momma's are. The other 25% are the shittiest people on the planet, like Casey Anthony, for example. Still, I have to say if my mom and I were speaking right now, I'd bake her a gluten free cake and wish her well. Unfortunately, that's just not an option right now, so I'll revel in the swag my husband and kids got for me, pictured above.

1. 1.75L bottle of Smirnoff Triple Distilled Premium Vodka. A thoughtful, gluten free gift for when Mom has had a hard day at work and needs to relax. Add OJ and kick back mom!

2. A Welcome to Las Vegas pin. A wonderful reminder of where HHH and I tied the knot, thus making us all a complete family!

3. Margarita Scrub & Shea Butter Lotion from Bath & Body Works. Nothing like a little pampering for good old mom! After a day of cleaning up other people's various hairs and bodily fluids, being able to scrub it off, exfoliate, and lotion up my skin is a must! Plus, my kids are still at the point where they will rub my feet if I ask them too, and I plan on cashing that in as much as possible before they wise up.

4. The Complete First & Second Seasons of Psych. One of my favorite TV shows. James Roday and Dule' Hill are hilarious! I am watching season 1 right now as I am typing this. We are on the "Spellingg Bee" Too funny....

5. And last but not least, the plaque on the back of the wall. The UF 2008 Championship Season plaque. It is teh AWESOME!!!!!!!!! My family is so cool.

So that is my Mother's Day swag! I also got some of the most awesome home made coupons, and pictures, and cards from my little ones. I expect tomorrow will be filled with breakfasts, foot rubs, and children fetching me things like more OJ for my vodka. Then it will be Monday again and it will be back to "MOOOOOOOOM! Where are my shoes?" & "MOOOOOOOM!!! I need the answer to a homework problem!" .

Sigh....... Anyway, Happy Mother's Day to you all!

UPDATE: Rebecca has given me the gift of two broken wrists! She still wasn't better after a couple of days, so after HHH made me brunch, we went to the ER and had X-Rays taken. The guy came back with the news that not only was the wrist that was swollen broken, but the one we weren't worried about was ALSO broken! Wheeeee. We have to make an Ortho appointment for next week. This also could mean the trip to Universal on June 5th & 6th could really suck for her because she won't be able to ride anything good. No water rides, no roller coasters, and no running around. Happy Mother's Day.

Dancing Queen

Tonight was my daughter Rebecca's VPA dance recital at school. I was so proud!
She was so pretty in the first piece. It was the one she had been practicing during lunch, after school, and on weekends at home. It was a VERY big coup for her to even be in this piece because she is only a sixth grader, and that is the beginning class for ballet. Most of the sixth graders have never done ballet or any kind of dance for that matter. This has been Rebecca's first year doing this and she must have been doing really good because the dance instructor picked her for this. It was beautiful. (She's the first one on the right)
Then, the other dance she was in was the "Hairspray" number at the end. It was so cute! All of the dance students, all 85 of them, participated in this dance. It was really Good. The video below is of her doing the dance. Sorry it's sideways, but the damn video editor wouldn't flip it for me! All in all, it was really good. Most of the kids were in step with each other this time, as compared to the Christmas Recital, and even if the audience was rude, the kids had fun.

FYI, if you ever go to a middle school dance recital, don't expect people to actually sit down, or shut up, or be polite to the performers or anything like that. People had their cell phones on and ringing, they were eating and drinking and burping during the performance, and everyone was talking and being totally rude! I had to pay $3 each for Morgan and myself to get in for this (it goes to buy costumes.), and having to listen to some of these inbred, unwashed hicks smack their gum and pick their teeth while ignorantly gossiping about their neighbors during these kids performance made the whole experience less than palatable. Sigh.....

Oh, and I also got my bosses to donate a $90 cleaning to the raffle! I thought that was cool of them. I made sure to make a basket with plenty of their flyers and one of the homemade natural soaps we give out in it. I wanted the woman who was announcing the winners to say our business name when she announced the winning ticket number, but she didn't. I was trying to plug our business so I could get a few more clients. Maybe next time!

So, that's the run down of the recital. Now I just have to get a program for the summer for them. Next is Morgan's dress rehearsal tomorrow, and her performance on May 16th! All these dancing girls have my head spinning!!!

Doing The Shuffle.

It was skate night again! We all went out there and had a good time. I was doing the shuffle from the "old" days, while making the rounds checking on all the kids. Of course they were all spread out all over the rink.
I am very proud to say that I DID NOT fall down at all. In fact, I only had 1 close call. To my complete surprise, HHH went and got skates too and came out on the floor with me. He look way to hawt out there skating! Reminded me of Junior High.
Rebecca came with us. This may not have been a good idea though. (She has her ballet recital tomorrow.) She was doing OK when a small kid took a fall right in front of her. She made the effort to miss him and and ended up falling backwards. HARD! Now her wrists are swollen. We left right when that happened. I got her in a hot shower, gave her two Tylenol, and massaged icy/hot into her wrists when she got out. We are hoping that it will be better by tomorrow morning. The recital is 40% of her grade, but I don't think she'll be cut if she's hurt.
Junior was brave and joined the races. He came in 5th, but he was trying really hard! HHH and I joined in the adult races. There were only 5 of us. There weren't many parents skating. I guess we were the cool parents. It's surprising how much I remembered from when I was a kid. I was pretty good back in the day. I could do singles, skate backwards, and spins. The rink had a backwards skate and the floor cleared out enough for me to try a few moves. I did my spins and backwards skating. It was fun. I had fun. The kids had fun. HHH had fun. At least until Rebecca fell.

Oh, and on a school note....

MotherFu#@er! And the Health Department didn't tell the school officials until today. The kid was sick on April 28th!!!! WTF is that all about??? What the hell did the health department think? We didn't need to know?? I have kids who are diabetic! I NEED TO KNOW!!!!! Fuckers. My kids are more susceptible because they have a chronic illness. Lucky for us we ALWAYS get the flu shot at the beginning of the school year. They say it may or may not keep them from getting the H1N1 virus... but school is almost over and the recorded phone message we got said the kid was already over it, and back to school. Oh, and you know when we got this nice recorded call? WHILE AT THE DAMN SKATE NIGHT! Yep, every parent there got the call at the exact same time and we all started getting pissed all at once! I imagine there will be a few people in the office tomorrow wanting to know why we weren't told sooner!

And on that note.... I'm gonna go to bed. Night all, sleep tight, don't let the swine flu bite!

Weird Stuff From The Green World!

I am trying to watch "Scrubs" season finale, so this may be a little disjointed. try to bear with me....

Yesterday the team I was with hit our first house at8:45am, ready to clean. It took us 10 minutes to wake the gut up. The dude looked like a cage fighter,... all tats, scars, and a shaved head. He wasn't actually awake as he was stumbling around quite a bit. He explained that away by saying he had just gone to bed at 6am. Ok....yeah.....whatever. We asked if he needed a moment to shower or grab some breakfast and he came back with... "Naw, I don't need to f%#kin' shower. I'm gonna hang out by the pool." Then he was gone. Very nice. Very nice indeed.

After we were done cleaning, my team leader came through to check our work. She was feeling the counters, checking for crumbs and such, when I saw her pick up a small bottle and suddenly drop it like it was acid! I asked her what was wrong and she said with disgust... "Sex lube.... and the bottle is wet!"All together now.....

Today we did a house that was infested with ants and spiders. The spiders were there to eat the ants. The clients had purchased those ant baits from the local wall to wall mart and distributed them liberally through out the house. It didn't look like it was working though. There were ants everywhere! Now you have to understand that this was a home in one of the most exclusive country clubs in Sarasota! It's funny how people will spend so much damn money on a ritzy place to live, but the upkeep of that same place gets nickled and dimed!

While walking home from work today, I was listening to my ipod when I crossed Fruitville. As I was stepping up onto the curb, I noticed a flashing glint in the grass. I looked a little closer and saw it was a porno DVD. Someone had thrown out a bunch of DVD's on the side of the road. I was looking at "Sirena's Sexy Party" or something like that. Interesting....... Kind of goes with the time I saw a dildo laying in the canal out back of our house in Okeechobee.

I am still waiting for my cards. Last time I checked, it said they were in production. I am salivating for them like a fat kid for cake! I know this isn't part of my cleaning anecdotes, but I just had to mention it. I am excited! Can't be helped.

Why I Live In Florida.

This is where I spent the last 4 hours of my work day today. Out on Siesta Key cleaning out a vacation rental. The view was breathtaking. The azure waves frolicked with the pelicans and they dove like cliff divers after small silver fish. The lilting breeze caressed the palms, the salty scent wafting through the open windows while we mopped the floors and wiped out the refrigerator. I've worked at better jobs, but today was just one of those, I can't believe someone pays me to be here, kind of days.

Then it was home to the Hubby and taco night in honor of Cinco de Mayo...... or Cinco de Cuatro as our fearless leader calls it. I Laughed at that one! We had tacos, went and did some shopping at Target, and then hit up Taco Bell for some Caramel Apple Empanadas. YUM! Oh and I can't forget the prerequisite margaritas. You have to have those. I can almost hear a song in the back of my mind......

"Jose' Cuervo, you are a friend of mine........."

Viva Chihuahua!

This was supposed to post tonight, but due to some kind of fuckery on Blogger's part, it posted this morning. I tried to get it back off but it wouldn't even work with me that way, so I said to hell with it.

I have been sad today. Not the "boo hoo" kind of sad, but the "It hurts t do the right thing" kind of sad. Sometimes doing the right thing is the hardest thing to do, so just go and read why I am sad.

Viva la rasca Chihuahua!

I hate it when I get too emotionally attached to things.

Adios, Amigo!

I am not going to beat around the bush. We found Oscar a new home.

I didn't want to find him a new home. I love the little guy. He has the cuteness. The face.....he does the face........ I can't resist the face.

That's why I had to let him go.

See, ever since I got a job, Oscar has been lonely. Oh, he had Fluffy and Toby to play with, but he really loves people. He thinks he is a little people. (with fur and fangs) When I was home during the day, we would go out and walk, play tug toy, fetch, all the fun stuff. Now that I am at work most of the day, he is not getting the attention he needs, wants, and craves.

I was feeling like a bad mommy.

So, with a heavy heart I put an ad on Craigslist looking for a new family. It just wasn't right that Oscar was sad all the time. It would just be a matter of time till he began to act out in bad ways, (he was already chewing). I got several responses and picked a few out of the crowd. After 2 no shows, (I was asking people to drive to our house so we could meet them and evaluate how they interacted with Oscar), we had the cutest family come yesterday. It was a mom and her two little girls. Oscar liked them. The mom stays at home, so Oscar would have human contact more often. The little girls were close in age to Junior....... so he would have playmates. We sat and talked for about 30 minutes while Oscar became acquainted with the people..... I was sad. I loved Oscar, but when you love an animal, you have to do what is truly right for them. As much as I love Oscar, I can't live with him being unhappy here with us.

Finally, Oscar got the OK. They wanted him. HOORAY! I packed up his toys, puppy pads, wardrobe, and leash and helped him to the family's car.

No looks back. No whining. Nothing. I think he knew this was going to be for the best. Funny how animals are like that.

So now I am left with a small hole in my heart. I almost called for him this morning. He usually sleeps at the foot of the bed and I get him up and out in the mornings so he can go pee. I had to catch myself. No puppy underfoot. No one jumping in my lap. No one playing with the cat(although Fluffy didn't think that was a bad thing.).

The Darker Side Of Cleaning.

By now everyone knows I am working for a green cleaning service. Yes, I am a cleaning woman, but it doesn't bother me one bit. It's good honest work for good honest pay and no one can ask any more than that from life. It is difficult at times, (no a/c, bugs, sore muscles, etc...), but it is also good too,( Lost 20 lbs, tips from time to time, and freebies from the boss.). Sometimes though, it is really HARD. Not physically, but emotionally.

See, being a green service company, we get a lot of clients who are sick. They are REALLY sick. I'm talking cancer, lupus, M/S, .... you name it. They are now mistrustful of chemicals in a shape of form so they call my boss and have us come and do their housekeeping. Usually they aren't home, so I don't come face to face with their pain, but I see it in my job. I clean the bathroom and sweep up the hair they have lost from the new round of chemo. I dust the bedrooms where the bedside tables are covered with medications. LOTS of medications. I clean up the kitchens that are filled with natural foods because they can't eat anything over processed. I see the photos of what they looked like before life smacked them around. I think about the day when they may not be on the call sheet. It makes me sad.

Last Thursday I saw a photo of a little girl in one of our houses who was a ringer for Maddie.

I have been carefully avoiding reading about Maddie. Just reading the Tweets on Twitter was tearing me up. When Morgan was just diagnosed at 16 months with her diabetes, I almost lost her in the middle of the night to a catastrophic low. If not for HHH, I would have had to live what Maddie's Mom & Dad are going through right now. The pain, the sadness....... It would do me in, I believe. I can't even watch TV shows where kids are hurt or killed. My heart can't take it. In that one singular moment when the life left my baby girls eyes while she lay in my arms, something inside me changed forever. I watched her die.... and then miraculously come back to life. I have had a second chance. Most people don't get that. It echoes in my head

So now, as the March of Dimes walks are behind us, I'd like to put my two cents in. I usually don't do this. I have what one would call a charity of choice. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) I only have so much in our family budget for charity and since that one hits home for us.... we donate and recommend that one, but something about the photo of that little girl and who she reminded me of clicked on a little light. It clicked on and I suddenly felt the need to write about this. Felt the need to say, "Hey, I know the walks and stuff are done, but maybe the M of D needs donations year round, ya know?" Diabetes and premature births are really close in their research for finding causes and cures. The experts are saying in the next 20 years they will be nailing down definitive treatments for both that will almost eliminate them entirely. So won't you please go here and here, and make a small gift? If not for the disease, then for the kids it affects? No mother should ever have to watch the jubilant life drain from their child's eyes. I got my baby back, thousands do not.

It's 106 Miles To Chicago.....

This is Junior. He was watching "The Blues Brothers" on TV today. He was also wearing the black rayban sunglasses he got from a crew member of the Blues Brothers show at Universal.
This is Junior singing along to "Everybody Needs Somebody". Every..... single..... word!
He needs, yooou, yooou, YOOOOU!

I am raising my boy right...... no one can tell me otherwise!

Took the Fam to see X-MEN Origins: Wolverine tonight. In a word....

The butt nekkid scene of Hugh Jackman was......uh.... (cough, cough) cinematic brilliance. Oh, and the rest of the movie wasn't too bad either. The effects weren't so over done that they took over the whole film, the dialogue wasn't too corny in places that it might have been, and It wasn't too off the mark for the actual story. Stan did a good job here and left room for other movies to be made in the Origins franchise.

One small thing I had trouble with was the guy playing Sabertooth. Liev Schreiber. I just couldn't get past the fact that her had filled in for a brief time for Grissom on CSI. I kept waiting for something kooky and weird to come out of his mouth about forensics. Plus, I can't see him turning into what Sabertooth looked like in the first movie.

All in all it was a good film. Lots of action, doesn't slow down, and ends with a bang. My kids aged 7, 10, & 12 loved it! Rebecca was especially enthralled with Deadpool/ Ryan Reynolds from the beginning of the film. I think she thinks he's HAWT! Ha ha ha.... she's not too far off the mark.

So that was our evening. Aside from the popcorn making me violently ill tummy wise, it was a fun time. Apparently the butter flavored imitation grease isn't gluten free. I'll remember that for next time!
